    Minchul Yang, PhD, JD

    Founder, Management

    Dr. Yang is a Partner with SPMAGNA with expertise in technology consulting/transfer and intellectual property. He has extensive knowledge and experience in a broad range of science and technology, including semiconductor devices, displays, sensors, organic/inorganic materials, mechanical systems, bio-devices, and pharmaceuticals. He helps clients to commercialize their technology in the U.S. He also develops deal strategies and conducts negotiation on behalf of clients in cross-border transactions.

    Dr. Yang is the founder and managing partner at STIP Law Group, located in the Baltimore area. He worked as a Patent Examiner at the USPTO, prosecuting patent applications in the fields of semiconductor devices, nanotechnology, alternative energy, displays (LEDs and OLEDs), batteries, advanced organic/inorganic materials, and biosensors.

    Prior to USPTO, he was a postdoctoral fellow at University of California, Berkeley, Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory (LBNL), and Naval Research Laboratory (NRL). His area of research includes non-linear laser physics, surface chemistry, molecular electronics, heterogeneous catalysis, and organic semiconductors. He is an author or coauthor of 33 research publications on a broad range of science and technology. He is a recipient of John G. Miller Award for the Best PhD Thesis in the Department of Chemistry, University of Pennsylvania, 2002.
